Top 5 Favorite Einstein Quotes

Does anybody not know Einstein? Uh… of course. But if you are reading this then you probably knew him, right? From your high school teacher to the internet’s cartoon version of him in today’s oh so famous mode of expression–memes.

I love him not only because of his peculiar white hair and mustache and his casual looks but also because of the beliefs he shares with the world. In today’s age of information and flooding opinions, we could all use some Einstein insights for a tiny shed of light.

Here are my personal top 5 Einstein Quotes:

Great Minds have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

This makes to the top of the list because it gives me moral support. It tells that oppositions are everywhere and sometimes you have got to choose who to trust, yourself or the masses of opinions sprung carelessly by the environment from media to your own home.  So if you get a ton of oppositions from your decision, know that the only person who knows the right thing to do is you yourself and the rest are white noise. Because this is your life. People are free to judge you but you are also free to choose to not let these get the better of you.

If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

I love this so much. It is humorous, simple and real! And in times when i get totally lost (figuratively speaking) and everything is just turning tupsy turvy, this one gives me the tap on the shoulder saying “its all right, you’ll figure it out along the way…”

This world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.

This is a great reminder to always take a stand and do your part in making this world a better place and to always ask ourselves what is it that we can do. Passing the blame on others does nothing and if not, only makes the matter worse. We can’t  control others, but we have ourselves and sometimes, if not most of the time, that is the only thing we need.

Ones we accept our limits we go beyond them.

Defy your limits, they say, and that is true. But the only way to deny your limits is to know it and accept it. Then and only then can progress be done. The first time i did a headstand I would topple over before i could even push my butt on top on the right place. It was impossible! Practice was frustrating and painful! But the moment I accepted the fact that the whole of my upper body was weak and therefore could not do the support the pose required, i started not feeling sorry for myself.  I knew that the only way to do it, if i really wanted to, was to strengthen those weak parts by exercise and practice and giving it time. And it was all fun afterwards! And after 3 months suddenly at the beach i was able to nail it! Woooo hooo!

The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.

This is so plane and simple that no further words are required. But it is indeed, like all his quotes, a good reminder of what we truly should focus on if we want to make a mark in this wonderful world we found ourselves in.

And here is also one quote from him, this was one was when he got badly sick and the doctors had to do an operation again. He refused it and said, “I want to go when I want. It is tasteless to prolong life artificially. I have done my share, it is time to go. I will do it elegantly.”

“Childlike and profoundly stubborn” was the words used by his Nuclear Physicist to describe him.

How about you? What is your favorite Einstein quotes? 😉

Have an amazing day lovely folks!
